Welcome from the MASU President, Dr. Teresa Abbattista
As the newly elected President of the Mediterranean and African Society of Ultrasound (MASU), I am profoundly honored and invigorated to lead our esteemed society into a new era of growth, innovation, and profound impact.
MASU was founded upon a visionary commitment: to champion the advancement of medical and biological ultrasound across Africa, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean region. For years, we have built a rich legacy, fostering collaborative research, pioneering education, and nurturing a vibrant community dedicated to the power of ultrasound.

Building on our proud tradition of impactful international scientific congresses and invaluable postgraduate courses hosted within our distinguished Centers of Excellence (COE), MASU is poised to intensify its mission of disseminating ultrasound knowledge throughout our incredibly diverse community. We are committed to modernizing our educational methodologies, embracing cutting-edge approaches to learning, and actively supporting our COEs. This strategic focus is designed to ensure greater accessibility and inclusivity, empowering more professionals to harness the transformative potential of ultrasound.
Our core mission is to forge an even closer, more dynamic collaboration with the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB). Together, we aim to elevate standards, share expertise, and collectively shape the future of ultrasound globally.
Join us as we embark on this exciting journey, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in ultrasound education, research, and clinical practice for the benefit of all in our region and beyond.
Dr. Teresa Abbattista
President, Mediterranean and African Society of Ultrasound (MASU)
